  • Unitech Partners with NCR Power Delivery for Foodservice Distribution

The PA700 Android Handheld Computer and NCR Solution Work Together to Give Distributors a Competitive Edge

CYPRESS, MARCH 13, 2015 – Unitech America announced new success with their PA700 rugged Android handheld computer, partnering with NCR and their food service distribution software to provide a complete solution for delivery drivers. NCR Power Delivery for wholesale distribution harnesses the intuitive power of the PA700’s easy interface to eliminate the loss and inefficiency that often plagues delivery operations.

The solution unites the power of Unitech’s PA700 with smart, efficient software to provide proof-of-delivery, e-signatures, and paperless invoices. NCR Power Delivery eliminates the lost revenue associated with unconfirmed deliveries and time-consuming invoice reconciliation practices.

Unitech and NCR provide these services on a platform that is easy to work with. With the Android OS, drivers increase the accuracy of their deliveries with technology they are already familiar with.

Drivers need rugged & reliable devices. Companies need to keep costs low. The Unitech PA700 exceeds both needs. It's that simple.” said Bill Lewis, Business Development Manager at Unitech America. “You have the enterprise-level software and rugged housing of a traditional handheld computer. You also have the easy interface and accessible price point of today’s consumer-grade devices. That’s what helps get this powerful solution inside more trucks.

NCR and Unitech’s latest success was with Jake’s Finer Foods, a food service distributor specializing in high quality meats, currently serving Texas and Louisiana. Their PA700 solution integrates seamlessly with Jake’s existing on-board computers, or OBCs. A singular login gives drivers access to both their OBC and NCR Power Delivery tools.

Foodservice distributors like Jake’s can gain a competitive edge by using the NCR/Unitech solution. Paperless invoices for example, are not only more accurate than printed invoices, they also increase cash flow and reduce the costs associated with printing and filling out paperwork.

Increased inventory accuracy and proof-of-delivery protect distributors against disputes and eliminates the errors inherent in traditional delivery methods.

Unitech’s rugged handheld computer division is dedicated to providing cutting-edge software to enterprises everywhere. Unitech’s Android offerings include the PA700 handheld computer and the TB100 rugged tablet, with the TB120 rugged tablet (featuring an integrated barcode scanner/MSR reader) to be released shortly.
